The Cahuac Cycle | by Andrew Warwick July 06, 2009 | 6940 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I have been writing ever since I can remember, even as a very young child. I was lucky in that all through out my schooling I was actively encouraged to write. And write I did, telling many fanciful tales. Eventually though our school days end and we must venture forth to find work to support ourselves and that, alas, leaves not as much time to pursue writing dreams. The ideas never stopped coming through that period though, and resulted in copious amounts of notes, synopsis and outlines jotted down for future use Having a bit more free time on my hands, the time has come to do something with those ideas and to pander to the delusions of authorhood that are mine. I am a writer of fantasy, exploring the history and mythology as well as the adventures of a world many years in the making, in stories both short and long. |

Dragon Lance | by Dan Schwartz July 13, 2009 | 678 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I love a good story, and I love a good joke. These two factors are my biggest influences. My writing is story telling interconnected through jokes. My debut book No Cure for Nature is a comical environmental adventure which explores the personification of Mother Nature rebelling against humankind in a whirlwind of puns, wordplay and heroism. My background is in Environmental Engineering which is where my strong fascination with environmental issues comes from. I am still unaware where my love for puns was born, and story telling most likely stems back to Sesame Street. |

The Faith of Angels | by Kevin Hofsas July 16, 2009 | 59237 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: Kevin Hofsas has seen the face of God—an Impossible Event—needing the favor of God and the circumvention of the law of nature—‘for no man may see the face of God and live,’ Exodus 33:20. One condition for this encounter was set when Kevin wandered far from God on a counterfeit path of salvation. While there, a lesser event misappropriated the laws of life and death, circumventing the natural law God foreordained. To understand the lesser event, first understand that humans are luminous beings. What is a luminous being? It is a creature of light. We cannot see it with our natural eyes, but in the realm of the spirit, every human is a luminous being. What does a luminous being look like? It appears as a lightning bright radiance that extends outward from a human body two feet and is egg shaped. It consists of countless billions of laser taunt, hair-fine strands of light. And every single strand is alive with a lightning bright brilliance. And, the luminous being perceives with . . . all of them. Why is it hidden from us? Because the luminous creature requires a person to mature through more levels than is humanly possible. A process derailed by Original Sin in the Garden of Eden. Yet Jesus revealed this on the mount of transfiguration in Matthew 17:2. Multiple times in God’s word, angels have also shone brightly. Scripture points out God is light, He shines like the sun and promises to make us like him. Christ himself foretold of this transformation in Matthew 13:43, ‘Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father.’ So to understand the event that permitted God to reveal his face to Kevin, one must first grasp this luminous aspect. It is a huge step to believe. Kevin, when he first read of it, thought, ‘If this is true, it’s the best thing that could ever happen!’ Launching into the unknown, he determined to find out if the claim was true. As it happened, while upon that false path, the luminous creature was awakened by a preposterous, unbelievable act—the act of tricking it with a false death. The false death awakened the slumbering luminous creature and is why God did not break his own word when He revealed His face to Kevin. For the luminous creature cannot remotely be considered a man—and the event of tricking the luminous body with a false death still qualifies as death. God’s word remains true—no man may see the face of God and live. In Kevin’s own words, “After the fruitlessness of that false path unfolded, God brought me back to himself through the matchless grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.†And it is for you, friend, that Kevin has written of his rapturous, mesmerizing, blessed encounters with the Most High God. The same God who created the universe. The God who created you. The God who loves you. |

| Author bio: I was born into a crazed Jewish family, 1947, and raised in Coney Island. I became a diabetic in 1958 and insulin dependent two years later; five years after that I was to begin what would be a 45 year journey as a junkie, writer, lover, thief, scholar, asshole and idiot to myself and all those I came in contact with. I split from confines of my home early on and, when cutting school, found myself in Greenwich Village where I met and fell in with those also outside the rules of boredom and adopted a lifestyle that deceived me into thinking I could ever really escape myself. |

After the service she was waylaid with college, marriage, the corporate world and having babies. From the moment she read her first erotic romance novel a few years ago, she knew she had found her niche and realized that her dream was passing her by. So after years of thinking about writing she finally grabbed her laptop and wrote. Eliza lives in beautiful North Carolina and spends her days dividing her time between writing erotic romance, her job as a marketing manager and raising her two daughters. She likes her stories hot and spicy whether they be contemporary, fantasy or paranormal and will write in whatever genre her imagination has conjured that day. |

I love music. I have an addiction to poetry and lyrics. So if you see a quote in my work and think, "that sounds familiar..." it might be. It might be from one of your favorite songs. I think my writing is more lyrical like from a song, rather than a mirror image of say something, Shakespherean. I've been branching out more into short stories lately. And it's kind of fun how the words just flow. |

Lucky in Love | by Cari Hislop July 24, 2009 | 38462 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I’m an American married to an adorable English Goblin who makes me laugh every day. I’m an artist with a degree in fashion design, but I’ve always been a story teller. Stories are everywhere; in every scent, every glimpse out of the corner of the eye. The most magical moments of my life have been born of ‘what if?’. I’ve been making up stories as long as I can remember, but I was ten before I 'wrote' my first story. It was a romance - the young girl’s parents are killed by a plane falling on their house so of course she moves to England. Don’t ask me where she got the money or the passport! I knew I wanted to grow up to be an author. All my artistic talents converge on my favorite subject: people. I find both individuals and general humanity endlessly fascinating. My genre: Regency romances (historical romances set in late Georgian England) Rated: PG13 (PG13 as in 1985) Style: Each of my stories tend to have their own humor depending on the character's personalities, but they always make me laugh. My plots are character driven and my stories evolve with the characters. Other than the hero and heroine somehow ending up together at the end, I never know what will really happen in the story until it happens. Note: After much deliberation I decided to use English spelling rather than American English spelling in my stories. This will sadly irritate some people, but the USA is the only country to use American spelling while the rest of the English speaking world uses English spelling. I don't think of my books as a series, but all my characters inhabit the same Regency Universe. Most of the main characters are either related or know of each other so my stories often intertwine. If you ever have any questions about my stories or would like to receive an e-mail to let you know I've finished a book please e-mail me at... cari.hislop@regencyromancenovels.com Happy Reading! Patches and the Vegetables | by Dory Lee Maske Aug. 10, 2009 | 3228 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I've always been a reader--loved fairy tales when I was young. I started writing when I had children of my own. My husband, Bob Maske, does all the art work for my stories. He did all the book covers and the animations that accompany each story. I try to keep at least half of my stories and books free and would love to receive feedback from my readers. You can contact me at bbmask@starstream.net or at doryleemaske@wavecable.com Thanks to all you readers out there for your support. |

Brief Objects of Beauty and Despair | by Larry Harrison Aug. 12, 2009 | 35038 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: Larry Harrison started life as a cowman and yak keeper for the Tibetan Buddhist community at Karma Kagyu Samye Ling, in Dumfriesshire. After working his way up to the post of assistant dairyman on a commercial Ayrshire herd, he left Scotland in 1975 to work with disadvantaged children at London’s Clapham Junction. Larry became surprisingly good at persuading children not to stand on the railway tracks at Earlsfield Station, and he was able to talk them down from rooftops in Battersea, without them bombarding passers-by with slates. To this day, Larry is relieved that he was able to negotiate the release of everyone held hostage by Barry in the school unit. The Parks Department should not have left an axe unattended within sight of the building, and had Barry not been so amenable, the outcome could have been a good deal worse. (Thanks, Baz. What fun we had! Sorry to hear you were done last year for kidnapping that Assistant Governor on D Wing.) During Larry’s subsequent career, as a university researcher on alcohol and drug problems, he wrote Tobacco Battered, a BBC Radio 4 feature, and over fifty journal articles, academic books and book chapters. He was appointed Reader in Addiction Studies at the University of Hull, long a centre of excellence in problem drinking, before retiring to the East Yorkshire countryside to make cider and write fiction. Glimpses of a Floating World is his first novel. |
