Chapter 3
As soon as he turned around, he just found out it was his dog, Cody.
“Don’t worry,” said Adam “carry on”.
“Anyway, you come into this because we need you to go undercover into Afghanistan to spy on the Taliban, and steal back the bombs,” replied Blake, who started to make his way towards the front door.
“W-W-Where are you going?” questioned Adam.
“I’m going to start up the car and drive you down to the headquarters so we can get you your gadgets. Then afterwards, we’ll transfer you, by air escort, to the Pentagon, where you will receive your full briefing of the mission. Understood?”
“Yes, Blake”.
Adam staggered to get up and walked over to the front door. This was where he saw the luminescent, red muscle Ferrari, with the engine roaring to go.
“Well get in Adam!”
A half hour later, they had arrived. However, it didn’t turn out as Adam thought it would be. In fact, it was nothing like he had hoped for. The place he was staring at, were a bunch of public toilets. Adam didn’t say a word. He just got out of the car and followed Blake, who was already halfway down the stairs. When Adam reached the bottom of the stairs, he found 4 public toilets. All of them were fine… all except one. The one that wasn’t working had an ‘Out of Order’ sign which, to Adam’s surprise, wasn’t normal.
Blake had went over to the sign and pressed the first ‘O’ on the sign. What happened next was unbelievable. The ‘O’ lifted up and a laser came out from it. Blake put his eye on it and it scanned his eye. They heard a beep and the door opened.
Adam was expecting (again) a lot of high tech machinery and devices. He was wrong.
It was just an ordinary toilet with an old pull lever. Blake got in, shut the door and pulled the lever. They both heard a flush, and then they began to descend underground. When they arrived at the bottom, Adam couldn’t believe what he saw or where on Earth he was. In fact, he was in the C.I.A, with all the things he had read about. Blake led Adam through to the main control room. This was where he met Saunders. Saunders was the head of the C.I.A and controlled everything, as well as everyone else.
“Hello Adam,” said Saunders, greeting him.
“Hi!” replied Adam.
“Now as you know, we have been following you for a long period of time, and we think that we need you under our employment,” continued Saunders.
“So I’m here to collect gadgets? Then I’m off to the Pentagon to receive my briefing, right?” asked Adam.
“Affirmative,” said Saunders.
“Ok, well when do I get my gadgets?”
“I’ll take you through to Neville, our gadgets specialist,” answered Saunders.
Saunders led him through to the gadgets department.
“Adam, meet Neville!” said Saunders.
They exchanged greetings.
“Well Adam, I’ll leave you to it. Just make sure your back in the main control room in 30 minutes,” Saunders told Adam.
Saunders left the room, leaving Adam and Neville by their selves.
“So… what gadgets have you got for me?” Adam asked.
“Well, we have got a few for example, the slingshot pen,” he said.
“A pen that shoots a slingshot?”
“Up to 50 metres and has super strong strength,” replied Neville.
“What else?” queried Adam, curiously.
“X-Ray glasses, which see through anything,” said Neville.
Adam took the grappling hook and the X-Ray glasses from Neville.
“Is that it?”
“Well, there is one more thing…”
“Which is?”
Neville reached under the desk and pulled out a P.S.P and two games.
“The game called ‘Death Smasher’ is an all-in-one device and bug tracker, that also tracks Claymores and C4 planted anywhere, all within a 50 mile radius!”
“Well, what about Grand Theft Auto?”
“It’s for the trip and to see how good you are with a gun,”
“You’re going to give me a gun?”
“Not us, the Pentagon will supply you with their weaponry,” finished off Neville.
Adam took the gadgets, thanked Neville for the equipment and headed off for the Main Control Room. When he arrived, he found Blake and Saunders discussing. Adam approached the two men.
“Hello gentlemen,” Adam announced.
“Ahh Adam, I was wondering when you were going to arrive. Your escort is here so we will be transporting you by air because it is much more efficient and quicker,” returned Saunders.
“OK, so where is my transport?” asked Adam.
“Outside…let’s go,” replied Saunders and Blake in unison.
