INTRODUCTION
Four things for the reader:
First of all, if you’re reading this, I thank you. You’re saving my life. I’m at a point where I’m giving up and letting go of those “crazy” dreams. I’ll never be that great wealthy writer that I dreamed of being. But, I’ll be happy enough knowing that someone will be reading my words. So, if you’re reading this, thank God for the internet and thank you for taking time to read my writing.
Secondly, writing is dangerous. My real name is not Echo Romeo. It’s a pseudonym, an alias, a nom de plume (I love that term). I use an alias because writing is dangerous. There are people’s feelings, situations, reputations and/or opinions to consider. I wrote some of this stuff when I was young and stupid- what would my children think? Names and incidents have been changed and events dramatized to protect the innocent. I’m unleashing my words into the world. Who knows what the consequences and effects will be?
Thirdly, I promise you that this stuff is worth while. I’m like most people in that I don’t really like poetry. Maybe I just don’t “get” it or I just want somebody to explain it to me. But, I truly believe in what I’m doing. I consider my writing style like the constitution- it’s “for the people by the people”. If you can’t find something interesting in each of these poems then I’ve failed you and I’ve failed myself. I promise you that I tried my best to make it interesting and entertaining.
Lastly, read on and enjoy.

STARTING SOMETHING
I had a rebirth last year
I became a new man
And I made you a new woman
With the words I do
My life began
With you by my side
I learned how to live
All over again
We share one heart
It’s the love
in our blood
I’m just beginning
To understand
And we walk together
And we eat together
She and I together
forever
What happened before time
I don’t recall
Off the cliffs of love
I took a fall
Your voice echoed from islands
God and angels heard my call
And at the point of my life
When my heart was small
With your kiss
I felt ten feet tall
You performed that magic
Making something
Out of nothing at all
****
I’m a
poetic atomic bomb
ready to burst
with kilotons
of devastating love
****
ARTSY FARTSY
People can relate to movies, dreams on the silver screen
And thinking about the future, what could have been
And laying in bed all night, waking up grouchy
Ordinary, everyday things are the golden stuff of poetry
We’ve all released some shit, we eat, we fart
We’re only human after all, that’s real art
Sometimes I get so angry, I could shout
Perfect imperfection is all we really talk about
I go to work, I go to church, I love my wife
We do everything together, that’s our life
We party together, together thanking God above
For this wonderful life, the art, the dream,
The poetry and all the love
*****
BACK IN THE LAB AGAIN
The poetic
prophetic
word scientist
the great genius
Is back
Back in the lab again
Mutating another great formula
To keep it coming at ya
Making the future
Creating the legacy
What will it be today?
The great ugly monster
Good God it’s alive
Babies for a barren mother
Give her 3, four or forty- five
The 300th try at a good sex machine
Something to get your teeth to stay clean
A new word, the word was good
Give me a new drug, new food
Whatever the desire
I breathe out the fire
I breathe
And I live
In the lab again
****
5, 4, 3, 2…
The boxer can’t roll with the punches
The prophet who is always wrong
The teacher needs more classes
The rapper with no sense of song
They’ve been around long enough to disappoint
Light a joint and wonder what’s the point?
You want your story to be told
Same old plot and you just got old
You’re the mess the rest of us try to put in order
I’m the house; you’re just a boarder, a hoarder
The difference between you and me
I can tell the fantasy from reality
I do what you could not do
More than you’ll ever do, it’s true
I fought the wars
And kept the faith
I wrote the script
It’s no secret
Give me credit
I wrote the book
Take a look
No shit
Shit
****
AND A ONE AND A TWO
Please, let her be
The one
The one that understands me
The one that makes me happy
The one who pleases me
The one that I’ll marry
The one that I will carry
You know
The one
Please, let her be
The one
The one that wants me too
The one who’ll always be true
The one who does laundry too
The one that makes this one two
The one and only you
You could be
That one
Yes, she must be
The one
The one that touches me
Where no one else can
The one that makes me rise
And makes me a bigger man
The one that makes my heart
Start up, race and stop
The one that makes me feel
Like I’m on top
Of the world
I think you know
You are
The one
*****
BLACK WHOLE
Boredom has bored and punched holes in my brain
Big black holes, endless vacuums
Sucking up whatever matter it can take
To fill itself up
Creating the swirling vortex of pornography
Magazines, video games, dreams of death and life
Warped sense of reality
The silly drama of family
The myth of a better life
Is that really my beautiful wife?
Eventually those holes are going to create their own gravity
And my feet our going to be sucked into my ear holes
And then where will I be?
Somewhere, where I can be happy?
Somewhere over and under the rainbow
I just don’t know, no one knows
Inside out, stuck within myself
Sitting on a couch and still playing with myself
****
WAKE UP BROTHER
I’d rather be here and now then called the great and late
You’re milking past glories ten years past expiration date
Let the past rest before your future turns sour
Don’t waste your breath, a second or another hour
Telling tall tales of how great your life was
You’re a old teenager in a mid life crisis
Are you too blind to see what your life really is?
It’s waste, it’s shit, it’s sleep, eat and piss
****
TIME AND MONEY
I never ran out of poetry
I only ran out of time
Bits and pieces of words and ideas
Found like change
Here’s a nickel, penny and dime
Put together , still short a dolla’
To try to make the right poem
That will make them holla’
Sometimes it’s easier coming up
With the perfect crime
Than it is to come up
With the perfect rhyme
Maybe I should just run
Take off with all the money
Or just write bear love poems
For my sweet honey
The price is different
But it’s still a crime
I never ran out of poetry
I’m still trying to buy time

AS THE WORLD TURNS
The world can change in…a year
I visited my love, she was stuck in Philippines
I put in the paperwork to rescue her from home
She needed permission to come into the land of the free
It cost lots of grief, time, phone calls and money
But we got married in September
The world can change in…three days
Three days into my honeymoon
Terror was unleashed in America
You know what those bastards did
No one will ever forget
America will always remember
The world can change in…a moment
I dreamed I was playing with my first child
When I woke up my wife handed me a pregnancy test
It had two purple stripes
Still half dreaming, I asked what does it mean
The back of the box illustrates the results
One for negative, two for positive
It’s positive
I’m going to be a father
The world can change in…a phone call
Don’t tell anyone until the test was sure
But she told everyone anyway
She took a blood test to confirm the results
Our coded phrase was on the machine when I got home
The phrase that opened up the space age
The eagle has landed, the eagle has landed
She’s going to be a mother
The world can change in…a week
The week before we found out she was pregnant
I started a war with one little bullet
I said Christina Aguilera had no soul
My wife is her biggest fan and come to her defense
Suddenly I was judgmental, not the man she thought I was
Suddenly regrets emerged and we’ll never have a baby
Hours later, I forged a midnight peace treaty
Her mood swings were easily explained
We’re going to have a baby together
(Christina still has no soul)

DO IT AGAIN

Hurried invitation

Ready penetration
The insemination
Fluid motion

Bush recession
Needs manipulation
Erect the re-erection
The true election
Yes, yes
Just a few more seconds
Yes, yes

THE EQUATION
Your character is your destiny
Character = who you are + Destiny = what you will become
(You are who you will become) (You will become who you are)

VIVA LA REVOLUTION
What is a Revolution? ( r v -l sh n ) NOUN:
1a. Orbital motion about a point, especially as distinguished from axial rotation: the planetary revolution about the sun. b. A turning or rotational motion about an axis. c. A single complete cycle of such orbital or axial motion.
2. The overthrow of one government and its replacement with another.
3. A sudden or momentous change in a situation: the revolution in computer technology.
4. Geology A time of major crustal deformation, when folds and faults are formed.
What the hell do you want?
Spin, rotate, rockin’ in the free world
Go live in Russia or some third world country
I’d rather live in this lawful democracy
Than live in the awful fear of anarchy
Oh, freedom in the U.S.A.
It’s a food revolution every minute
Cheese, no pickle on this burger
Maybe we should all just eat tacos
Eat up that pork fat
Because bread makes you fat
What’s the skinny on that?
Put the forks down and pick up the sticks
Because we’re all turning Japanese
I cause another remote revolution
The device is safer in this dictator’s hand
The channels change at my command
And I can do it quicker than she can
What should we do when there’s nothing left to watch?
Turn the TV off, start the car and go watch a movie
We’re going around in circles
Around this city, around this block, around the sun
It took two revolutions around the sun to make this last book
and it will take many more just to make sense of it all
Saying the same old things, thinking it’s new
Lie over and over, again and again, for nothing is true
Accept for change
Big, rapid, political, small
Where’s my change? Where’s yours?
Walk on your hands, go backwards
Revolver, evolver, spin, rotate
Rock on rock star
March on
Revolution

ANYTIME, ANYWHERE
I was part of Operation Noble Eagle. Around April, we called in more soldiers to help us if the mission was going to be extended through June. Anyway, one of the soldiers we got a hold of finally came in. Maj. Tanker and I were sitting around our desks, when this odd, chubby guy with a bushy mustache walked into the room. We found it hard to believe that this was even a soldier in the National Guard. Just the mere sight of him would have made you laugh. If someone could be called a walking punch line, it was that guy. He wore some Army gray sweats, which would be baggy on most people, but these sweats were tight on his protruding belly. As if he wanted to put an exclamation point on the joke, he topped it off with one of those hunter’s hats, with the flaps down over his ears and on his feet were rubber boots. So, top to bottom, it was one of the most comical things I’ve ever seen. But, we were professional soldiers with a job to do, so we choked back the urge to laugh. He introduced himself. I forget his real name; let’s just call him Sgt. Strongonov. True story, this is what he said to try to get the job (or something like this):
I’m ready to go anywhere, anytime, you just say the word and I’ll be ready. One thing to tell you though- I have a permanent profile. I hurt my back working and I have bad knees. I also ripped my shoulder. I can’t stand longer than fifteen minutes at a time. I’m not allowed to do strenuous physical activity. Definitely no P.T. and I can’t lift over ten pounds, but other than those conditions, I’m ready to go anywhere, anytime, just say the word. I just have to get my wife’s permission, she’s in the parking lot, and then I’ll be ready to go, any time, anywhere

DEATH DREAM PART ii
I had a dream once where I apparently died. Inside an apartment, my family and friends were crying over my death. But, I was standing there in front of them and they couldn’t hear me when I laughed and said,” I’m not dead, I’m right here. What is everyone crying about?” They couldn’t believe I was dead and neither could I.
I waved my hands in front of my wife who was crying, sitting on a couch. Sitting next to her was a girl named Margie. I willed her to see me and her eyes started to bug out. She started to have a seizure, her trembling finger pointing at me. I smiled; somebody can communicate a message to my wife for me. My wife, Joan, was trying to calm her down. Joan grabbed her by the shoulders, asking her,” Do you see him? Do you really see him?”
Somebody or something walked up to me. It said, “Stop that. They can’t see you. You’re dead. You’re one of us.” Then, it flew out or swirled away, like a blur that never existed.
It hit me. My body was dead but my spirit, my essence was alive. I broke my connection with Marge. Her frail little body fell limply into the arms of my wife. They held each other and cried, sad to see me go.
I said goodbye and jumped (or flew or swirled, like a blur that never existed- like spirits often do) into a mirror, into another spirit dimension, where everything was cold, silver and gray. I jumped into another space and sat there for eternity waiting for the solution to this problem. I wanted to live.
Then, as lights and the ethereal stuff passed my way, the answer came to me. I closed my eyes and held on to this thought: Dreams are a type of reality. There are many different realities, different dimensions all parallel to each other, somehow connected. If I died in one reality, if I can catch it’s tail, in some other reality, I must still be alive.
I opened my eyes, awakening from the dream or the reality, happy to be tired, lying next to my wife, still alive, and beating death again.

POEM 1
Broken hearts mended
Single lives ended
The angels descended
Our love ascended
On the day
We were married
****
POEM 2
Had that great poem at the edge of my finger tips
Dangling on the cliff of my mind
Ready to jump into reality
But I didn’t have a pen handy
And it was gone
The moment was gone
A line up of beautiful women dressed in bikinis
Dangling on the cliff of obscene
Breast defying gravity
Ready to take that picture
But I had no battery
The camera don’t work without batteries
Then they were gone
The women were gone
Another moment gone
****
MINE
I was feeling fine
Until you tired to take
What was mine
Over and over
You cross that line
You missed the stop sign
My fingers will wrap
Fingers tight and serpentine
Around your throat like vines
Until I draw vintage wines
With your heart and blood
I will dine

FUTURISTIC TELLY
The future is coming in as clear as television static
I peer into the storm and do the dance prophetic
Billions of possibilities are open to a lunatic
I swallow enough of the past and future to make me sick
The mind throbs and eyes see words dancing cryptic
Wipe the glasses clean to see worlds myopic
It’s all black, white and gray and apocalyptic
A bright or dark future, another dimension to pick
Let me win the lottery, tell me numbers to pick
Wait, its another bad Arnold Schwarzenegger flick
I wouldn’t touch that one with a hundred-foot stick
The vast and crazy big empty, time loses another tick
You can turn it all off in one, fast, deciding click
But all you can see is yet another and another naked chick
Hands instinctively know the steps to the dance pornographic
The rhyming schemes grow sillier and lose the form poetic
But the words, the women and everything gain the energy kinetic
It’s coming clearer
I’ll insert the picture in your mind- I’m a great telepathic
Do you see what I see?
Ah yes
The future
Smile, it’s fantastic

No prettier words were ever spoken
Than
I have to get home to my wife
******
SHE MELTS ME
I came in from another winter night
My hands heavy and frozen blocks of ice
I stumble in the dark, tired
Surviving another twelve-hour shift
Just to get back to my bedroom door
Even with the lights off
I can feel her heat
With every breath she takes
I begin to feel more alive
She, the only place I can feel this warm
She, the only place I can feel this comfort
Sinking into this bed of marriage
I lie down next to her and rest
She dreams another dream and sighs
I stare for a moment at my dreaming dream
The silence and peace of it all
I’ve found what I’ve been searching for all my life
Moments like these are the reason
Behind the lunacy of love
A crazy, cold hand finds the way into her shirt
And meets the warm skin of her back
Love,
Get up

MOTHER LOVE
Nanay is in love, or has a really big crush on her chiropractor.
These are some of the things she has said:
I thought I was dead but now I feel so alive, alive, you hear me.
I thought love was only for the young.
Oh my heart, I can’t take it and my blood pressure, too.
If the doctor’s wife dies, I hope he doesn’t ask my for a date, I don’t know what I’ll say. Maybe, I’ll say okay but we go fifty- fifty with a chaperone.

LIVE ON
Echoes of the future past falling backwards from infinity
I heard someone crying my name, someone missing me
I float above my wife and once and future family tree
The roar of a mad sea of sadness rolls inside my head
I think I’m only sleeping or they’re disturbing the dead
I’m six feet under, in a grave or still in my bed
Just moments ago, I was laying next to you
I shout into the air space a message to you
I love you, with all my heart, I love you
In your hearts and memories, I will survive
From the past, I scream into the future
I am still alive
*****
MY LAST SEVEN DAYS
If I had seven days to live and you asked me what I would do
I’d spend my first six days with God and my last day with you
On the first day, I’d ask the Lord to take care of the one I loved
Because there’s no one else I’d rather have than you, my one and only love
I’d pray to him the second day to take away your fears
Because it would only break my heart to see my love in tears
On the third day, I’d ask him to forgive me for my sins
And I’d beg him please for another chance to live
The forth day is for thanksgiving, for the blessing we receive
He blessed me when I met you, you’re the best gift I could receive
The fifth day I would say a prayer for all mankind
That all may find peace in their hearts
Soon we will be reunited
Prayer for preparation would be on the sixth day
That he may take me to heaven and not the other way
I would thank God on the seventh day because I’d pass my time with you
Before I leave this world, you’d know how much I loved you
****
SPRING HERO
Remembered for a moment
To be celebrated eternally
Winter is another distant memory
Those days have passed
We’ve fought off cold death again
And the world is full of light again
Guided in my path
From morning into night
My heart bleeds so much heavenly light
The sun, the stars
Simple and shining reminders
Of heaven, earth and living in wonders
Taking all the worlds beauty
In my heart to take slumber
Where life’s charms go on forever
But all dreams find ends
And I miss the wisdom of my fathers
And the company of my mothers
I arise and rise alone
With the keys to creation in hand
On the shoulder of titans I stand
To cast away the mystery
Writing my history in the sky
Ready to fall and ready to fly
Like the season
I want my legend to roll on and on
For a moment forgotten but never gone

MORE NOTES FROM THE AUTHOR
If you made it this far, once again, I thank you with all my heart. Hopefully, reading my writings and poems was as worthwhile as I promised it would be. If not, then all apologies. This is volume 6 of a 6 volume series. Please support the dream.
This volume is offered free and it’s the last of this series. It’s also probably the last of my poetry books for awhile, at least until I can dig up more material. For the most part, writing is a difficult and labor intensive chore. Sure, there are people who can write a lot with a lot less effort and can make a career out of it. Then there are people like me, who have to work at it a little more while working and taking care of a family. Who has time to write? I have piles of books because who has time to read?
I thank you for taking the time to read my poems and writings. I hope I made a fan or two. This one is free for you.
Anyway, in the next phase of this operation, I’m going to be concentrating my efforts on writing movies. So, the next things that I’ll be publishing will be scripts. I hope you have enjoyed my writings and will be on the look out for more material by my great alias, the one and only Echo Romeo.
Please feel free to write me and tell me what you think of my writings. And please support the dream. If you enjoyed this volume, please buy the other volumes. And if you enjoy that, spread the word. Support the dreamers, the romantics, the writers and poets. Don’t let the dream die.
About the author:
Echo Romeo is a completely fictional character. He’s my alias. One of these days, he will reveal himself and you’re going to be completely disappointed. So, to keep his legend alive, he must remain like Batman, in the shadows, in a cape, in a mask until he is needed.
