Some people say that the glass is half full, and some say the glass is half empty. What if you see the glass as totally empty? 20 year old Arianna never thought she would end up at a place in her life when she just couldn't stand anything, but it had happened. She just couldn't think around people. Everything bothered her, and even though she had a plausible excuse, she still wanted deperately to be happy. The only thing she could think of was the man. The man she gave everything to, only to have him taken away from her.
It was 10am and the birds were chirping happily. This is one of the things that Arianna really could not stand. She hated to see that things could be so happy while she was in such a horrid, and depressed mood. Nobody had really seen her in quite a while, because when she was 16 she ran off with the Lucca, man that they were now putting six feet into the ground. Since nobody had seen her in 4 years they were expecting a heavier, pale, blond girl with chocolate brown eyes, but were suprised to be greeted by a tan, slender, brunette with bright blue eyes.(apparently she had gotten contacts.)
Lucca was the only thing she knew, without him there she was lost. They ran off together 4 years ago, and lived in seclusion. Nobody ever told her that living all alone would lead her only to heartbreak, but she didn't really tell anybody she was going. If only they'd lived in the city by all of the friends, family, and civilization maybe Lucca would still be alive. Maybe, she wouldn't be alone.
You see, Lucca died because he couldn't make it to a hospital in time, and he bled out. Arianna will never forget the moment Lucca walked in the house, blood pouring from his neck, after a piece of sharp edged metal sliced it. Even in his last minutes on this Earth he kissed Arianna on the cheek, "If I don't make it to the hospital in time just remember that no matter what I am always with you, and you are my everything. I will never regret running away with you because you gave me the best 4 years of my life. I love you with all my heart, never forget that." with that last word Lucca took his last breath, his pulse slowed to a complete stop, and his body began to stiffen up.
Not only had she just lost her everything, Arianna had begin to notice unusual things about her behavior. She was throwing up, had been tired all of the time, had major backaches and headaches, and was craving some of the most bizzare foods (which not to mention was causing her to gain a lot of weight. She was slender but had what looked to be a baby bump, but it could have easily been a few extra pounds). When she had told people they all had asked her if it was possible that she was pregnant, but she simply shook her head no and walked away. To be honest, it was very likely that she was pregnant. Arianna did not want to think about having to raise a baby on her own so she made herself believe that it was just a really bad seperation anxiety.
After Lucca's funeral she left the cemetary in tears and her black gown and widows veil. Arianna had began to get really curious. "I must be pregnant. I really need to find out." she thought to herself. Instead of turning and heading in the direction of her mother's house, she went to other way toward the nearest grocery store. Arianna went in a bought her pregnancy test and made her way back to her mother's house.
When she finally pulled into her mother's driveway she got really nervous. She rushed into the house and before her mother could greet her she mumbled something about having to use the restroom and went on her way. Arianna sat the peed on stick on the counter and waited. She glanced over at it a few times anxiously awaiting her fate. Finally, the five minutes that the box said it took to become seasoned was over. She grabbed the test off the counter and had to force herself to look at it...
"YES!" she yelled in excitement.
Her mother, Alexxandria, opened door with a confused look on her face. She had no idea why her daughter was screaming in happiness out of the bathroom until she looked in her hands. There, in Arianna's hands, lay a positive pregnancy test. She ran over to her beautiful daughter and began to weep tears of joy into her black gown. She had always wanted grandchildren, and was afraid she'd never get them, but now it was happening.
Although Arianna was not exactly happy about having a kid at first, she was now giddy with glee. She had thought it would be hard to take care of the baby on her own, but what she didn't realize was that she would never have to be on her own again. She was still upset about what happened with Lucca but she knew everyone has their moment to go and things happen for a reason. Arianna knew that she and their baby would be perfectly fine living with her parents until she found a home and job closer to society.
7 1/2 Months Later.
After 9 hours in labor Arianna was blessed with a beautiful baby boy. She named him Lucca Kristofer Jakobson Jr. after his father. Lucca Jr. happened to look just like his amazing father. Arianna had finally found something to fill the void in her crushed heart. She knew that he was a miracle sent from heaven above to take the empty place in her heart and fill it with a stronger, yet different type of feeling. She was finally happy again.
Some people say the glass as half empty, and some still see it half full. Arianna Beth Jakobson now realizes that the glass is neither. Her glass if totally full. After the death of her beloved husband Lucca she never thought she would be able to say that, but it had happened. Almost nothing bothered her and she didnt think things could get any better. Arianna was the luckiest girl alive, and she that. She also knew that Lucca Sr. was always there with her.
Epilogue
Arianna was not ready to hear the words that fell out of her son's mouth but she was happy for him nonetheless. Lucca had found himself a really pretty black haired girl with pretty blue eyes, Quinn, and decided he was ready for marriage. Although they were only 16, and young and stupid Arianna knew that the girl was what he wanted. Also, she knew what it felt like to be 16 and in love. If she had not given them permission, they would have ran away together and she wouldn't see them for a long while, so she let them fall slowly more in love.
Lucca and Quinn had two kids and named them Beth Lynn and Lucca Krisofer the Third, after Lucca's parents. They lived together, next to Arianna, until the day Arianna died of old age. It was devasting, but they realized that she lived a happy life. That happy life was all because of stupid teenage love that nobody ever thought would last. <3
