Free Will

Free will is the ability to think for ourselves

The ability to act on our own,

To do right or to do wrong,

To freely choose the consequences of our actions

What a wonderful burden upon our hearts,

To know we are responsible for ourselves

That we are accountable for the choices we make,

Choices that affect us and those around us

To which one-day we will look back with either pride

Or, one day with regret

Free will, a split second decision

A lifetime consequence

An eternal result

I May Be Down

A battle lost and I am down, but

I may be down, but I’m not beaten

I may be down, but I’m not broken

I may be down, but it’s not over

I may be down, but that’s because

I’m waiting for my time to rise again

Who I Am

A servant is who I am

A follower is who I am

A man whose life is not his own is who I am

Someone broken is who I am

Meek minded is who I am

A man set free is who I am

All because of who? I AM

Who We Are

Can we really say we know?

Who we are? Why we are?

If values change

So we change

Therefore we are never who we are

There is but only One that can not change

He knows us, birth into death

Our every move known before us

One who is beyond birth and death, eternal

So us in our fragile state

In death, in the final breath

Can truly say, Who We Are

Son of Innocence

You came into this world

A baby, innocent and pure

You lived by your Father's word

And through it we were made secure

But, that security only later we found

When on the cross You were bound

And thus as You entered the world

So did Thy leave it, innocent and pure

God's Promise

The promises that You have made

Are to me like the ocean

So vast, filled with many pleasures

And never empty

Satisfying Gift

Christmas time and all are cheerful

Gifts to be given, gifts to receive

Every year gifts are given that never satisfy

Yet have we forgotten the gift given to all?

What gift? It was sent for the world to receive

Born on the day which Christmas represents

Born to testify to the sinful

Born to carry the burden of those sins

How can such a gift now be forgotten, neglected?

Those who have received it, please fulfill

To that which was intended

For the gift to be shared and remembered

More than just on Christmas Day

Eclipsed Magnificence

My eyes are downcast for Your Glory

I can not witness

For my sin has eclipsed its magnificence

But, by the blood of Your Son

Which washed all sin away

Now can I gaze upon

That which is to be

In Christ Alone

In Christ alone, by His hand

At His gates I now stand

The cost to enter

By His blood was paid

On Calvary at its centre

And, not even death, in the tomb where He was laid

Could withhold His Glory

Yoked with Christ

My life alone I once stood

But, now with You I am yoked

Many trials have I with You withstood

Since the day my heart cried out

For your deliverance

Which, thus in me much joy invoked

Clouded Serenity

Through Your eyes I wish to gaze

Your Glory which is upon this earth

For through my eyes is seen a haze

I no longer have a sense of mirth

For in all its obscurity

Has sin Clouded that which I once saw as serene

Ensnared Heart

You mean so much to me

More than sermons, more than happy songs,

More than societies' praise which beyond these walls surround

Inseparable by Your love which I share

The words You spoke with me in my heart I ensnare

And a reflection of You, I intend the world in me to see

In hope to end all the wrongs

Which around me abounds

Many Voices One Voice

Many voices around me try distract

From thy Son’s final cry

“Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit”

For His sacrifice I will not retract

The statement He made on the cross

For this promise I inherit!

Thus this from my heart you shall not pry

Many voices try to distract, but only to One do I commit

The Lord’s Face Unturned

The ways of the wicked are perverse

From such deeds I wish to reverse

For it is wise

To all deviousness despise

So the face of the Lord

Shall from thee not be turned

Wicked Defeated

The wicked try to scheme

So that they may reign supreme

But, in their foolish folly

Do they forget the day of Calvary

Where You already won the Victory

And crushed the evils plot

Live by the Spirit

Live by the Spirit

So thy sinful nature may be disinherited

And thus not be contrary

To the day of Calvary

May the fruits in you abound

In the life by the Spirit you now have found

Freedom in Christ

In Christ we have freedom

And thus not end, as did Sodom

Who through sin was destroyed

For through Christ is peace enjoyed

As by the accepting of the blood of His sacrifice

Shall the death of sin keep us free

God's Mercy

God who on me has mercy

Has given me refuge

Of this I do not pass subterfuge

In this He is true

Through every written word

Which He has given to you and me

Within God's Walls

Within your walls, O Lord

Are we free from violence and strife

For beyond those walls all hell is rife

It is not in your interest to all your Glory horde

So You send out Your chosen

To instill within the people, hope

To one day within Your walls have life

Righteous Boasting

The wicked boast of their evil

The righteous boast of God

Which, in the eyes of God ,is a disgrace?

For the wicked boasting is selfish

The righteous boasting in man will instill

A heart of loving grace

The wicked instill a fate hellish

Unlike the righteousness of God

The Call

Turn your ear

For you shall hear

The trumpets call

For one and all

Who declared Him King

And to Him all glory sing

The Savior of us all

Empty vessel

My soul thirsts

For I have poured out

All sins transgressions

Weakened by all my confessions

I am an empty vessel, lifeless

But, by Your grace which is priceless

In Your blood paid out

Can the emptiness be replaced

Filled with You

Heavens reach

I am to be meek

As for Your Glory I seek

And in so doing much wisdom may You teach

While for heaven I reach

Sin at bay

On my knees I lay

Towards you do I pray

For Your helping hand

To free me from the sin of the land

So I may with You one day stand

Joy in me abounds as sin from me stays at bay

World's Test

In the Lord I lay all trust

For my life which is put to task

And my heart for You is put to the test

As the world from You tries to rest

Me from Your grasp

Overboard Love

My love for the Lord

For some can seem overboard

But, I am guaranteed in the book to be stored

And one day before the Lord stand

Fruitful Words

From the fruit of thy lips

Shall thy life be guarded

For if thy words God's glory seek

One's outcome shall not seem bleak

And thy righteousness

Thus be far from weak

Answer to Call

Past sins I no longer recall

For You promised to forget them all

When my call to You was made

And thus I was saved

You cast them out

And now can my life take a new route

I can turn about

Answer your call

“Follow Me”

Not afraid

A Christian am I, cheerful

For why should I be fearful

The Lord is my shield

And therefore I shall not yield

To the sinful whims of the world

True Mentor

In the Book can one find a mentor

But, truly on One can we centre

As from Him came

The key to enter

The gates of heaven

Which by His bloodshed

I hope to have read

My name from the Book

Stand in Freedom

We give praise to Him

To Him we in Glory sing

And all our sin and pain to Him we bring

So that we in freedom stand,

One day in the Glory of Thy Holy Land

God's Church

A Church filled to the brim

Exceeding all concept of sin

A church which was thought to come to ruin

As all the member's skeletons from the closet came

Far from everyone's delight

Though, the church remained upright

And on the pastors face centered a mighty grin

As he knew, yes he knew

God's Grace

Upon the congregation stood

And thus firm the church shall remain

Your Day

On Your Holy Day

Is celebrated a holiday

Unlike Fathers day

Unlike Mothers day

Unlike Workers day

Unlike Youth day

Unlike any other day

On this day Your birth is celebrated

On this day the world You entered

So from sin we could be liberated

And in heaven every day be Holy

Transparent Living

Unlike glass which is transparent

Our lives in sin are in turmoil and are rampant

The sin in our lives fluctuates

We constantly ask God for rebates

From the sum He already paid

And when we finally obtain our translucent state

The light of God through us may shine

as a billboard sign

To the promise He made

That of eternity with Him

Crucified

Nailed to the cross

You experienced untold pain

As on it you were slain

So we the sinner

Eternal life may gain

And a new life with you

In eternity remain

Standing Ground

I stand my ground

As you surround

My every being

And never are you distant

From my heart

Task Completed

The task is done

And you have won

For us our fate eternal

Life everlasting

with the Almighty

Uncontested

Who can against Thee protest?

You survived the wilderness-test

Received 39 of the best

And in the tomb laid to rest

None can your resurrection contest

In this I too many boast

In the presence of the Holy Ghost

Hindsight

There is one which we need

Of which we do not see

Whose warnings we do not take heed

Warnings which we mock

For they spoil our hearts pleasure

His love for us we can't measure

We forget our troubled ends He has foreseen

If only hindsight was an instant experience.

Promise Foretold

A promise has been made

The foundations of which have been laid

With the slaying of the Lamb

By the house of Jacob

Whose descendants now span the world

The promise some have forgotten

The promise some have denied

This has not changed their prophesied fate

The fate of their life's end

To themselves have they lied

In there sin they have died

Denied themselves the Lamb

Who died for their fate
