My Favorite Toy

My favorite toy
is my secret best friend.
We have so much fun
just playing pretend!

My favorite toy
comes wherever I go.
Santa gave it to me
so long ago.

My favorite toy
and I have a blast!
Whenever we play
the fun always lasts!

My favorite toy
is my secret best friend.
We’ll both be together
until the day ends!

Toes

I was looking at my feet today
and they look silly and funky!
One toe is way bigger than the others
and another is too little and stumpy!

My toes are all so chubby
and all are different shapes.
I think they’re just too funny
they smell like little apes!

I was looking at my toes today
and they are like little pickles.
They’re silly and they’re cute
and when I touch them, they tickle!

I’m not afraid of the Dark

I’m not afraid of the dark.
You might ask me “Why?”
It’s because when I’m in it
you cannot see me.
Go on, give it a try!

Thanksgiving

I was ready to eat on Thanksgiving day
I had a fork in one hand, spoon in the other.
But suddenly there was one delay.
We had to give thanks to one another.

I thought of what I was thankful for.
It wasn’t just one thing, or two, or even four!
My mind was full of thanks for so many things
before we even said our blessings.

I give thanks for my family
full of love.
I give thanks for the sky
and the sun above.
I give thanks for my school
and my best friend.
I give thanks for my toys
and the fun that we spend.

I give thanks for this food
and for beautiful things.
I give thanks for my life.

Thanks for everything!

Make-Up

I watch my mommy
as she puts on lipstick.
I want to be like her someday.

I watch my mommy
and the colors she picks.
She’ll wear blue and pink today.

I watch my mommy
as she powders her face.
She does so very gracefully.

I ask my mommy
to make-up my face
and she says I’m beautiful naturally.

Goldfish

I told my dad I wanted a pony
and he thought I was being funny.
He got me a stupid fish instead
who will stay in a bowl and just play dead.

I’m angry, with my stupid fish.
A pony is my true wish.
I tap on the glass really light…
and this yellow fish springs into life!

I hold my hand over the bowl
and the fish swims right up to the top.
I’m amazed by this, but he’s not my wish.
I wanted a pony and not a fish!

Later on I am so bored
so I take a peek into the bowl.
I look at the fish , I look at his fins
and they look a little to me like wings!

He swims around like he is flying.

He can’t get past the glass but he keeps trying,
and he picks up little rocks in his mouth
and he looks so silly when he spits them out!

He is gold-colored, so I named him Gold
and he’s getting bigger inside his bowl.
I like to watch him make funny faces.
I make them too and I think he sees them!

I’m getting used to my brand new fish
even though he was not my first wish.
A pony would be too big and tall
and my Goldfish is not so stupid after all!

Spaghetti

My mommy made me spaghetti
but I was so bored
I imagined they were worms!

They were covered in zucchini
even the meatballs
and I was the monster to eat them all!

I chomped and I slurped
I stabbed and I chewed
‘till mommy asked me
What is wrong wif choo??”

Red sauce on my face
and none on my plate.
Lips red as a lobster…
I’m the spaghetti monster!

My Best Friend

She’s the greatest, my best friend.
We like to play pretend.
Sometimes we’re movie stars,
other times our bikes are cars!

With our imagination we play.
We don’t need toys every day.
She says, “Let’s have a race!”
and we take off running any place!

My best friend and I dance
then put on mom’s high heels and prance.
We both have so much fun
whether inside or out in the sun.

She’s the greatest, my best friend.
The most awesome girl to play pretend.

My Skates

My mom says I have to do chores
but I’d rather go out and play.
Cleaning my room is such a bore
and it’s Saturday, anyway!

Maybe I’ll clean just a little bit
because I can’t find my skates.
Maybe I’ll play music while I’m at it
my booty I might even shake!

Next thing I know, my room is all done.
Everything is spotless and clean.
Yet I couldn’t find my skates, they’re gone!
I wonder where they could be…

Could it be that my mess swallowed them up?
Or maybe a thief committed the crime!
I go outside anyway after I clean up
and they were out in the yard the whole time!

Midnight Snack

Midnight snack, naughty snack.
I’m not supposed to eat this late!
Midnight snack, sweet sugar snack.
You’re just going to keep me awake!

Midnight snack, you lazy snack.
I’ve been staring at you all day.
Midnight snack, full of fat.
YOU were staring first!

Midnight snack, secret snack.
I hope you won’t make me fat.
Midnight snack, sweet sugar snack.
Oh, forget it, you’re so worth THAT!
