Sean Branagan walked to the edge of the Cliffs of Moher and stared at the rocks below, as wave after wave crashed against them. If he jumped now, he wondered, how long would it take him to die. Would it be instantaneous or would he suffer a while. It didn’t really matter either way, it would end his life before the suffering even began.
Ever since he had been diagnosed with his terminal illness he had tried to live his life to the fullest, to experience everything in six months that most people take a lifetime to indulge. He had done everything he wanted to except fall in love. Falling in love now wouldn’t be fair to anyone who might become the love of his life so he stayed away from women except for the occasional prostitute. It was better that way.
As he stood there contemplating his fate the wind came up and blew against him as if to tell him all was not lost as yet, but he knew better. All it would take was one step, one small step. He tried to lift his foot but it wouldn’t budge. Something seemed to be holding it down. He looked down and saw nothing holding his foot in place, so he tried again to take the step. The wind increased, pushing him backwards.
Then he saw her. She was gossamer, she was light, and she held her arms out to him in supplication, drawing him to her without a word. She wrapped her gossamer wings around him and whispered in his ear.
“You cannot go now, I can’t let you end your life without you ever having fallen in love. Love is the most precious commodity in the universe, and no one should let their life go with out it.”
“If a woman fell in love with me and then I died she would be heartbroken, devastated, and for no reason.” She stood next to him and placed her hand on his cheek.
“Ah, but you’re wrong. Everyone who loves does not always have a happy ever after, some love and lose, some love without ever being loved in return, some are loved without ever knowing they were loved. Wouldn’t it be nice to give someone who loves you the chance to receive your love in return?”
“It would if there was anyone who loved me, but there is no one.” He shrugged his shoulders and looked at the ground.
“There is someone, someone who loves you with all her heart and soul, someone you know quite well who will mourn your loss without ever even having your kiss.” She fluttered her wings as she danced above him. “She will weep and cry because she will have lost the chance to ever show you how she felt. Would you deny her that?”
“Not if I knew it were true.” Sean shoved his hands in his pockets and frowned. “Who is she?”
“Her name is Pricilla and she pours your tea every morning at the cafe on Main in Liscannor. Trust me Sean, she loves you very much.” He didn’t know whether to believe the fairy or not and why did he suddenly believe in fairy’s. I’m seeing and hearing fairy’s when I haven’t had me a dram of whiskey, I am surely losing me mind. “Go and love her, make her happy for the short time you have left, what have you got to lose?”
The fairy was right, he had nothing to lose, but what about Pricilla. “Sean, have you not heard it is far better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all, even for Pricilla.”
Sean headed away from the cliffs on a long walk back to the road where he left his car with the suicide note. He couldn’t help thinking about what the fairy had said. Pricilla loved him, how could he not know that. He would talk to Pricilla in the morning and then decide his fate and maybe hers as well.
****
It was an unusually sunny morning as Sean walked to the little cafe where he had his tea and toast every morning. He had spent most of the night tossing about in his bed, sleeping fitfully. Coming to terms with what the fairy said hadn’t been easy.
He entered the small cafe and sat himself down at his usual table, the same one he had sat at for the last five years. Pricilla brought him his tea and toast like always, with a smile on her face that would light the sky on a dark day. Funny how he had never noticed it before. Her eyes were a beautiful azure blue and her hair a deep rich golden brown, as it curled around her face, softly framing her high cheekbones.
She placed his tea and toast in front of him and in a musical sounding voice she asked, “Would you be wanting anything else Sean?”
“Yes, your company.” Sean waited for what seemed like minutes for her answer.
“I don’t think Mr. O’Toole would appreciate me sitting down on the job.” Her answer came with a wink and a smile.
“Do you have plans for this evening then?”
“No, no plans.”
“Would you be willing to meet me at the pub down the street at say six thirty? I’ll buy you a pint.”
“That sounds fine, I’ll be there.” Sean ate his breakfast and went to his job at the lower quay. His breakfast didn’t sit well in his stomach and he chalked it up to nerves.
****
Pricilla walked away from Sean’s table with a feeling of happiness mixed with dismay. She had been in love with Sean for sometime and prayed almost nightly he would notice her as more than a friendly waitress.
Of late he had seemed distant, as if something were troubling him but she never questioned him about it. For the past six weeks he had barely spoken to her in the mornings and now he wanted to meet her at the pub. She wasn’t going to question her good fortune, she would just show up and enjoy his company. Then she would go home and masturbate, pretending it was Sean, the same way she did most nights.
The rest of the day she went about her work with a happy song in her heart and a silly smile on her face. She knew Sean to be a hard worker, a good friend, and a considerate happy fellow.
He kept his red gold hair cropped short and it accentuated his high forehead and long narrow nose. He had a cute dimple in his chin, and matching ones in his cheeks, and when he smiled his sea green eyes crinkled at the corners. From the moment she first laid eyes on him she wanted to know what it would be like to kiss his full pouty lips. As far as Pricilla was concerned there was no more handsome man than Sean.
At four o’clock she left work and walked the eight blocks to her flat and as she walked she mentally pictured what she would wear to the pub. She had a new green shirt with dolman sleeves that showed off her cleavage and went so well with her new white denim mini-skirt.
Arriving at her flat she found her white skimmers and cleaned them up, dirty shoes would not look so good if she wanted to impress Sean. Next she bathed and spritzed on some of her favorite cologne, Sonas, and then dressed. She looked at herself in her full length mirror and decided she looked good.
Applying mascara, lipstick, and running a brush through her naturally curly hair, she decided she was ready to meet Sean, all she had to do now was wait till six fifteen and then walk the three blocks to the pub.
Upon entering the pub she spied Sean sitting in a semi darkened corner with a pint in front of him, and it appeared untouched. She made her way through the crowd to his corner and smiled at him. He stood up to greet her and asked her for her preference.
“Harp Lager,” she replied, and he went to fetch it for her. She watched him step lightly through the many people in the pub. He had a great looking butt that filled out his jeans so well. He usually wore loose fitting dock overalls so this was the first opportunity she had to appreciate his backside.
He returned and set her glass in front of her. After he sat down his gaze seemed to study her for the longest time. His not speaking made her nervous so she picked up her glass and took a long swallow.
“Pricilla, I asked you here because I have something I need to tell you and when I’m finished I want to know everything you are thinking and feeling. I believe it is the only fair way to treat you at this point.”
At this point, and fair?.
“Five months ago I was diagnosed with an inoperable tumor in me brain. The doctors gave me six months to a year to live. So far I have done all the things I wanted to do before I die except one, and that’s where you come in.” He took her hand in his. “I don’t have the time to court you proper like, I want to make love to you before I die but only if you want it too. I know it is a lot to ask considering I won’t be around long enough for us plan a wedding and get married.”
Pricilla took a deep breath. His little speech was not what she had anticipated at all and when he said he was going to die her stomach clenched. Her eyes filled with tears and one rolled down her cheek. He reached up brushing it away with the tip of his finger. Swallowing hard she did her best to get her emotions under control. Shocked to her core by what he had said she wanted to make sure he understood where she stood on the matter.
“Sean, I love you and have for a long time and I know you don’t love me so why me?”
“I knew this morning when I looked at you that you were the only one I could turn to who might care enough about me to agree to let me love you.”
“I see. Sean there is no need to court me and we can get married tomorrow if you want. I don’t need a big fancy wedding, just you and I and the priest. I don’t care how long you have left as long as it is spent with me. I would rather have you for the rest of my life but if a month or two is all I can get I will take it. We will make it the best months of your life.” She took another swallow of her lager and set half filled glass back on the table. “We should get started right now.”
She stood up and held out her hand to him. “It’s a three block walk to me flat and the clock is ticking. I suggest we not waste another moment talking when we can be loving each other.”
Once outside the pub Sean took her in his arms and kissed her warmly, sending a thrill through her midsection. She wanted him. She had always wanted him, and she was going to have him tonight.
They walked hand in hand, not speaking until they reached her flat. His tug on her hand brought her around to face him. “Are you sure this is really what you want?”
“Oh Sean, I have never wanted anything more.” She caressed his cheek with the palm of her hand, and then opened the door inviting him in to her home.
****
Sean’s heart beat so fast and loud he swore she should be able to hear it. The fairy had been right about Pricilla loving him. Why hadn’t he known it before? Had he always been so dense? It must be because he went through life before as if he had all the time in the world, or maybe he was to self absorbed, he didn’t know which. He had to admit the world around him had taken on new meaning in the months since his diagnosis.
She wanted him for what little time he had left, and he silently made a vow to make it the best time for her he possibly could. Whatever she wanted he would do his best to give it to her. Pricilla was sweet, kind, smart, and sexy beyond belief. He’d always thought she had a lot of boyfriends after her all the time.
The thought struck him as they walked out of the pub that he needed to kiss her, to hold her, to feel her body close to his. Her kiss made him feel like dancing. He had kissed other women before but never had it made him feel like dancing. Something different happened to him with her. Why, he wondered?
Did the fairy have something to do with it? Maybe it was just because it was Pricilla. As they walked to her flat so many thoughts ran through his mind as to what they were about to do. Could he make her body sing, her heart soar, stars explode in her head, or would it be a miserable experience for her.
Nerves were getting the better of him. It became all important that this be the best experience for her he could possible make it. He couldn’t disappoint her. Not now. Not when she was giving him her heart. So before they went into her place he had to ask her if she was sure she really wanted to go through with it.
His heart did a little flip at her answer and he lost all self doubt about his ability to give her everything he possessed inside. He followed her into her bedroom and watched as she kicked off her shoes and turned down the bed.
“Sit here Sean.” She indicated the corner of her bed and he sat. Bending down in front of him she removed his shoes and socks. Next she pulled his shirt off over his head, and pushed him back on the bed then undid his pants.
The touch of her fingers on his skin caused a tightness in his loins and desire for her flooded him. She pulled his pants and boxers down and his newly acquired erection sprang up bumping her chin.
A smile spread across her face as she stared at it while licking her lips. She leaned forward and kissed the underside of his ridged shaft. Her cool hands caressed his balls setting him on fire.
Then she stood up and undressed herself telling him to scoot up to the middle of the bed. She stretched out beside him running her hands up his abdomen. His muscles twitched at her touch. He rolled to his side and kissed her.
****
Kissing Sean was like setting fire to very dry kindling. The ignition was instantaneous. Pricilla was already hot for him because on the walk home all she could think of was getting Sean inside her pussy and riding him to completion.
By the time she had finished undressing him and kissed his cock her panties were drenched with lubrication. Her insides were crying out for the pleasure she knew would come from loving him.
She marveled at the way his flat stomach muscles jumped at her touch as she ran her hand over them. He was beautiful, his chest had just the right amount of red gold hair, the kind that cried out to her fingers. His narrow hips sunk in right down the patch of red hair covering his pubic area. She fully intended to run her fingers through that too.
The moment he rolled to her and thrust his tongue into her mouth little electric shockwaves traveled down her midsection to her pussy and stayed there. Her inner muscles contracted involuntarily. She moaned.
Sean’s fingers found her nipple and gently rolled the little nub into a hard pebble increasing her pleasure ten fold. She buried her fingers in what little hair there was on his head as she returned his kisses.
He broke the kiss and lowered his mouth to her breast, sucking her nipple into the heat of his mouth. She very nearly came. She pressed her hips to his in a effort to feel his erection against her skin. It was hot and pulsing where it touched her tummy.
“Oh God Sean, I need you inside me now.” She lifted her leg and placed it over his hip, allowing the length of his cock to rest against her nether lips. She ground her hips to gain the needed friction and would bring her closer to him.
Sean rolled her onto her back and went to grab his pants, but she stopped him. “No condoms, not now when we have so little time. I don’t care if I get pregnant because if I can’t have you then at least I might have your child. A part of you for me to love and cherish.”
“Are you sure, because raising a child alone is not an easy thing.”
“I’m sure, come make love to me. I desperately need to feel you inside me, I love you.” She held up her arms to him and he settled himself between her thighs, pushing his cock deep inside her. Pricilla felt him stretching her, filling her with his hardness, and at that moment her happiness overflowed.
She pulled his head down to her breast so he could suck and lave her nipple while he slowly moved in and out of her clinging pussy. She arched her back and pulled her legs up to get him deeper inside her, and then began to rock in time with his thrusts.
Heavenly was the only way to describe what she was feeling. Every muscle in her body began to tighten with tension as he continued to plunge into her depths. Pleasure greater that anything she had ever experienced rocked her to the very tips of her toes.
This was Sean, the man she loved more than anything, and he was making love to her, something she had prayed for but thought would never happen. He was inside her making her heart thud in her chest, making her want more of him as they rocked together. And then it began, her body stiffening just before it exploded in ecstasy. She strained reaching for the intangible event as she cried out his name and collapsed beneath him.
A few more quick thrusts and she knew he had reached his climax as well. She held him to her as her body shuddered and her vagina clenched around him. Her heart raced as sweat drenched both of them. Self pleasuring could never compare to the real thing with Sean.
****
Sean could barely catch his breath. His climax brought him satisfaction guaranteed to fill his soul for the afterlife to come. This woman in his arms loved him and he realized he could let himself go and fall in love with her in a heartbeat. His heart would be safe in her hands for the time he had left.
He rolled to his side bringing her with him, his hand reaching up to brush the curls back from her face. Her eyes glowed with love, her face flushed from love, and her smile pierced his heart with even more love. Perhaps the fairy was right. It was better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all if one judged by the look on Pricilla’s face.
Pricilla’s hand rested on his chest, her head on his shoulder, and her deep even breathing told him she was asleep. He stared up at the ceiling in wonder at how giving she was. He wished he had known five months ago what he had just now discovered with Pricilla.
Determined to make these last few weeks the best for her because she deserved nothing less gave him new strength to face the end, as well as sadness because it could not last forever. “Ah, fairy you were so right and I’m truly glad you came and that I listened to you.” Sean’s quietly spoken words into the darkness did not go unheard.
He closed his eyes and slept, missing the fairy floating above them.
“Sleep my children,” she whispered as she waved her arm sprinkling fairy dust over them. “Sean, you have earned the right to an extension of your life.” She smiled then dissolved into nothing.
A few hours later Sean awoke to Pricilla’s hand gently running her fingers through the hair at his groin, and then slipping over his cock. As soon as he became aware of it his shaft hardened and he knew heaven was only moments away. He captured her breast with his free hand and ran the pad of his thumb over her nipple bringing it to a stiff little peak.
She groaned and got to her knees. Bending down she took him into her mouth and his whole body jerked. All these years she had been in plain sight, his for the taking, and he never knew it.
What a waste!
Her mouth on him sent a wave of lust through his midsection and his groin. He wanted to bury himself in her and never leave. He grabbed her and pulled her off his flaming cock before it was too late. Pushing her down onto the mattress he knelt between her legs and dipped his head to take a taste of her pussy.
She cried out as he licked her clit then dipped his tongue into her sweet interior a few times. Next he kissed his way up her torso, licking her nipples on his way to her mouth. As his tongue thrust into her mouth his cock did the same to her pussy. He rested it there allowing his cock to soak up the heat of her canal.
He continued to kiss her and nibble her mouth, chin, jaw, and ears while only flexing his shaft inside her. He felt her clench around him, and he shuddered. His hands captured her head as he began to thrust slowly in and out of her clinging wet depths. He kissed her eyelids and nose, as her finger nails dug into his upper arms. She was magic. He would savor every moment they had together till the end.
“Sean, I love you. I need you. I want you to know how much making love with you means to me.” She matched his rhythm and his heart filled with joy, something he had not experienced in what seem like a long time.
Their love making this time was long and leisurely, and his climax when it came was more intense than the first time. If it kept getting better each time how would he ever be able to stand to let go when the time came. In heaven it probably wouldn’t matter.
****
Pricilla woke with a deep hunger to have Sean inside her again, bringing her to new heights of pleasure and happiness. She looked at his sleeping form, noting how peaceful and relaxed his face appeared. It was hard to believe he was so ill.
She slid her hand down his body through the curls sitting just above his beautiful cock that lay flaccid over his balls. It was soft as velvet, the skin smooth, the head dark pink. She picked it up between her fingers and gently stroked her hand back and forth over it, delighted when it began to swell.
Getting on her hands and knees she sucked the semi ridged member into her mouth, letting her tongue run over the smooth head. She took as much of him into her mouth as she could without choking. In only a few seconds he was hard as a rock, but the skin was still like silk to her tongue.
Just as she began to run her tongue around the length of his erection he grabbed her and pulled her away from her toy. The minute he pushed her onto her back she expected him to bury his cock into her wet pussy. Instead he bent down and licked her, making her cry out in pure pleasure. “Oh God Sean, that feels so good.”
“Does it, then let me do it some more.”
When he kissed his way up her body she felt as if she had died and gone to heaven, and when he buried himself in her she was sure of it. The flexing of his shaft inside her made her own muscles clench around him. The sensation was unbelievable. The pleasure pure ecstasy.
She loved him with all her heart, body, and soul. They had to make the most of what little time they had together and Pricilla was determined to make sure Sean knew he was loved and was getting the best sex of his life. Hell so far it was the best of her life.
The slow pace of their love making produced incredible sensations deep within her pussy. She matched her movement with his allowing her emotions to soar up and fill her mind.
Little tremors began as her body began it’s climb to the summit where she knew she would topple over the edge into wonderful, sublime, euphoria. This time she let it flow over her without straining, let it happen as it was meant to. Feelings overwhelmed her as she lost herself in the euphoria of Sean’s loving.
He stayed buried inside her as they both shook from the intensity of their orgasms. He kissed her again and again. His tongue darting in and out of her mouth while his cock remained perfectly still. He began to nibble on her lower lip, pulling it into his mouth and sucking gently on it.
He was setting her on fire again, making her want more of him and she did. He rose up on his hands and bent his head to take a nipple in his mouth. “I can’t seem to get enough of you,” he whispered.
“Nor I you,” she replied. He was hard again and he began to move, then he pulled out of her and she protested.
“Turn over for me.” She did and was rewarded with the most exquisite sensation as he thrust into her from behind. His hands were strong and he held her to him as he began to fuck her like a mad man. She cried out with each thrust. It was so good, so intense, so deep, as he pulled all the way out then plunged back in.
This time she came with such intensity she couldn’t control her emotions and she began to weep with pleasure as her upper body collapsed onto the mattress. He kept her hips pulled up against him and continued thrusting bringing her to another orgasm, and then he came.
They lay spooned together exhausted, but happy. Their bodies covered in sweat. Totally sated. Their muscles a quivering mass of jelly. Sean brushed a tear from her cheek.
“Why are you crying? Did I hurt you?”
“No, oh no, these tears are because I love you so much and you made me so happy that I am overwhelmed with joy.” She turned her head, kissed the tip of his nose, and snuggled into his body she drifted off to sleep.

They had been married for three weeks when Sean’s next appointment with his doctor came. Pricilla went with him to see Dr. O’Meara. He was the specialist Sean had been seeing each month so they could monitor the growth of his tumor.
After the MRI was complete the doctor told Sean he would call him as usual and give him an update on his condition. Later that afternoon the doctor called and asked them to come in right away. Sean assumed it meant the worse but not Pricilla.
“Sean, you can’t think that way. An optimistic outlook is always beneficial, and we have been so happy surely God wouldn’t take that away from us now.”
Sean squeezed her hand and smiled, “Ok, you win for now,” it had become a constant saying between them whenever they disagreed about anything. One of them would give in and say it. Time was too short and precious to fight and argue.
They sat in the doctors exam room holding hands and looking into each others eyes. “Only positive thoughts now.” Pricilla said as she winked at him.
Dr. O’Meara entered with a big smile on his face. “I don’t know how it happened but your tumor has shrunk to half of its size since your last visit.” Sean and Pricilla stared at the doctor in open mouthed astonishment.
“What does that mean?” asked Pricilla.
“It means he is not going to die right away.”
“Love did it,” said Sean, “love and the fairy.”
“What fairy?” asked Pricilla.
“The fairy of love,” he said as he tapped her nose.
“We will have to keep an eye on it but it has bought you more time and if it doesn’t begin to grow again you may well have several more years, and who knows love has been know to perform miracles before and it seems to have brought about a spontaneous remission in this case as well.” As the doctor turned to leave the room he said. “I want to do another MRI in two weeks, so make an appointment on your way out.”
Pricilla sat with her head down thinking Sean might want to leave her now. Sean lifted her chin and spoke. “You made this happen with your love and I want you to know I love you with all my heart, from now and forever.” She threw her arms around his neck and hugged him with all her might and he laughed in genuine happiness.
He would make a trip back to the cliffs and thank the fairy, because he was sure she had something to do with the improvement in his condition. She definitely was responsible for his current happiness. She and Pricilla that is.
